Privacy Policy

Variotools is a suite of online tools used anonymously. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, with whom it may be shared, and what your rights are. It has been drafted to comply with LGPD (Brazilian Law 13,709/2018), GDPR, and CCPA.
1. Who we are
Variotools is an independently operated web platform of online utilities (generators, converters, calculators, text and image tools). No sign-up or login is required to use the tools. For privacy matters, write to privacy[at]variotools.com.
2. Data we collect
We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) in the MVP, since there is no sign-up. We only collect: (a) anonymous usage data via Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics (only after cookie consent); (b) data you temporarily enter into the tools — processed in your browser and not sent to our servers; (c) local preferences (language, theme, favorites, usage history) stored exclusively on your device through localStorage and first-party cookies.
3. Purpose of processing
We use anonymous data to understand which tools are most useful, fix errors, improve performance, and prioritize the roadmap. Data is never sold or used to build individual profiles.
4. With whom we share
We share anonymous data with: Vercel (hosting and performance analytics) and Google Analytics (only when you accept analytics cookies). We do not share data with brokers or ad networks in the MVP.
5. Your rights (LGPD, GDPR, CCPA)
You have the right to: access the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, request portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Since we do not require login, the practical way to exercise these rights is: (a) clear your browser's localStorage and cookies to erase everything stored locally; (b) revoke analytics cookie consent through the Manage cookies button; (c) write to privacy[at]variotools.com for any other request.
6. Data retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for the providers' standard periods (Google Analytics: up to 14 months; Vercel: up to 12 months). LocalStorage data remains on your device until you delete it.
7. International transfers
Variotools infrastructure runs on Vercel servers, which may process requests in data centers located outside Brazil and the European Union. The providers used adhere to standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
8. Children
Variotools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you identify misuse by a child under 13, write to privacy[at]variotools.com so we can remove any associated data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. The Last updated date at the top of this page indicates the current version. Material changes will be flagged via the cookie banner or highlighted on the homepage.
